Foundry Networks has unveiled a SuperX family of Layer 2/3 10-Gigabit Ethernet switches featuring a compact form factor that enables the installation of eight systems in a 7-foot rack.The FastIron SuperX Edge and Wiring Closet Switch is a base system that supports Layer 2/base Layer 3 that is upgradeable to full Layer 3.
TurboIron SuperX 10-GbE Aggregation and Core Switch, which is also upgradeable to full Layer 3, is pre-configured with 16 ports of 10-GbE and XFP modular optics. BigIron SuperX Enterprise and Metro Layer 3 Backbone Switch supports full Layer 3 and is upgradeable to native full Layer 3. It supports 24-port 10/100/1000 fiber and PoE modules and other advanced configurations.
